Marquette – As part of the National Homeless Awareness Month in November, the Alger-Marquette Continuum of Care will host the 1st Upper Peninsula Homeless Summit on Thursday, November 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ramada Inn of Marquette.
Service providers, local business owners, city/county officials, and private citizens are urged to attend to discuss the many issues surrounding the homeless residents across the Upper Peninsula. Learn more about the resources available to help those in need, as well as on-going efforts to bring about creative solutions to the housing challenges.
The keynote speaker will be Rev. Faith Fowler, of the Cass Community United Methodist Church in Detroit, and Executive Director of Cass Community Social Services. Session presenters will include Michigan State Housing Development Authority, Great Lakes Recovery Centers, U.P. Health Plan, Community Action Alger-Marquette, Lutheran Social Services, Goodwill Industries, Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center, Pathways, JoshuaOneSeven LLC, Catholic Social Services, and UP Homeless Shelter representatives.
