Marquette – The Upper Peninsula Sunrise Dog Dash will be held on Saturday, July 2 beginning with registration at 7:30 a.m. at Picnic Rocks Park in Marquette. The run/walk will begin at 8:30 a.m.
Enjoy a 1 or 2.5-mile run or walk with your dog. Participants without dogs also welcome. A Dog Costume Contest will be following run walk.
Award winners in several divisions will receive locally-handcrafted engraved wooden plaques. Register by July 1 online at eventbrite.com to qualify for a gift basket drawing; or sign up on event day from 7:30-8:15 a.m. at Picnic Rocks Park.
Proceeds from the $15 entry fee will benefit UPAWS, an award-winning no-kill animal shelter. For further information visit upaws.org or call 475-6661.
