Marquette – Film fans are invited to a BYO Dinner Theater for a screening of “In the Heart of the Sea” on Tuesday, June 21 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. But that
told only half the story. “In the Heart of the Sea” reveals the encounter’s harrowing aftermath, as the ship’s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive.
The film is rated PG-13, and runs for 120 minutes.
Viewers are welcome to bring their own takeout meal to enjoy in the dinner theater setting.
There is no admission charge. Donations to benefit future library programming are always welcome. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
