Marquette – A free screening of the modern classic film “Gosford Park” will be offered on Thursday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
The murder mystery is the story of the lives of upstairs guests and downstairs servants at a 1932 English country house as a hunting party gathers for an outing. No one is aware that before the weekend is over, someone will be murdered – twice! The police are baffled, but the all-seeing, all-hearing servants know that almost everyone had a motive.
Maggie Smith, Helen Mirren, Kristen Scott Thomas and Michael Gambon
headline a diverse cast of characters – all with something to hide.
Viewers will be kept guessing right to the surprising end.
“Gosford Park” was released in 2001, is rated R (for some language), and
runs for 130 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.
