Marquette – The Matinee Movie series will offer a screening of the romantic drama “Brooklyn” on Thursday, May 5 at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
It is the story of an Irish immigrant who lands in 1950’s Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a romance with a local. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.
The film is based on the best-selling book by Colm Toibin, is rated PG-13 and runs for 111 minutes. Matinee Movie welcomes the public to bring their own lunch and enjoy the film in a dinner theater setting. Closed captioning will be on to ensure access for all.
