Marquette – Northern Michigan University’s School of Art and Design will host a lecture event featuring Petra Giloy-Hirtz of Munich, Germany, and Terry Myers of Chicago on Monday, April 25 beginning at 6 p.m. in room 165 of the Art and Design Building on the NMU campus.
Giloy-Hirtz’s lecture is about her forthcoming project that focuses on the artist Kiki Smith. She will present research and share highlights on the exhibition and publication. Giloy-Hirtz has been an associate professor and reader of medieval literature at the University of Düsseldorf for 10 years.
Myers’ lecture, “Painting’s Unfinished Business,” will examine the resurgence of painting through recent exhibitions including “Painting 2.0: Expression in the Information Age” at the Museum Brandhorst in Munich, Germany.
