Marquette – Film fans are invited to a BYO Dinner Theater event with a screening of “Spotlight” on Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Based on true events of 2001-2002, the film follows The Boston Globe’s “Spotlight” journalism unit’s year long investigation into cases of widespread and systemic child sex abuse in the Boston area by numerous
Roman Catholic priests. The actual Spotlight Team’s series of articles on this investigation earned The Globe the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.
The film was released in 2015, is rated R, and runs for 128 minutes. Viewers are welcome to bring their own takeout meal to enjoy in the dinner theater setting.
