Calendar – Music – Screening of “The Marriage of Figaro” – Feb. 14

Marquette – The Northern Michigan University music department will present a screening of the Royal Opera production of “The Marriage of Figaro” on Sunday, February 14 at 5 p.m. in the Jamrich Hall auditorium, room 1100 on the NMU Campus.

Mozart’s comic opera is about an engaged couple, Figaro and Susanna. They are looking forward to their wedding day, but Figaro’s master Count Almaviva has designs on Susanna. With the help of Almaviva’s wife the Countess and the page Cherubino, Susanna and Figaro finally outwit the Count. Humiliated and ashamed, the Count asks forgiveness from his wife, which she grants.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students under 18. NMU students are admitted free. Tickets are available at all NMU EZ Ticket outlets or online at nmu.edu/tickets.
