Let some of the area’s best theater & vocal talent guide you through an evening (or mid-afternoon) of enchantment. Some of the youngest PAAC darlings will give you a vital style tip with a favorite from “Annie” in that “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile”. They may be small in stature; their voices are anything but. The elegance Leslie Sollid (Beauty & the Beast/Cinderella) brings to “Maybe This Time” will astound and delight. Love will abound with Disney favorites such as “Kiss The Girl”, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, and “A Whole New World”. Sometimes though, real love isn’t always about fairy tales, luckily you can “Wash That Man Right Outta Your Hair”; aided by Taylor Kulju (West Side Story/Rocky Horror Alum), Julie Rexford (Beauty & the Beast), Alaina O’Brien (Rent/Rocky Horror Alum), and Madison Royea.

Traveling through many eras of love on stage you’ll see Eliisa Gladwell and Brady Skewis give a teaser from “Oklahoma,” coming to the Historic Vista Theater in June,” and very special guests from the Negaunee High School Chorus offering the appropriate “The Start of Something New” made popular by High School Musical. Three of PAAC’s shining young starlets, Maggie Aartila (Beauty & the Beast/West Side Story), Jessica Bowers (Beauty & the Beast), and Bethany Rudness’ (Beauty & the Beast/West Side Story) beauty and grace will make you doubt they need the help of a “Matchmaker” with the classic tune made popular by Fiddler On the Roof. All of this and special performances by Lee LaForge (Beauty & the Beast), Jacob Laitinen (Beauty & the Beast/Rocky Horror), the Bowers family (Rusty, Lisa, Joe, Jessica & Jack), The Rexford Family, The Sollid Family, Luke Anderson (RENT/Rocky Horror Alum), Robert Smedmen (Spamalot/West Side Story), Katie Killian, Monica Nordeen, Craig Grabarczyk (Putnam/Rocky Horror), Brian McDonald (Spamalot/West Side Story), and more are sure to fill up a wonderful night of fun and dessert.

Two dollars of each ticket sold will be donated to the Women’s Center in Marquette as they participate in “One Billion Rising” encouraging women through art and dance to “Break The Chain” of violence. The PAAC Valentine Cabaret & Dessert is not officially part of “One Billion Rising,” but it is very much in the spirit. On Saturday February 13th the Marquette Women’s Center will be holding an open house to presenting information and provide other resources from 11 am to 4 pm. Coffee and refreshments will be available. There will be a gathering in front of the Center from Noon to 1 pm to acknowledge the global effort in ending violence against women and girls as a social health disparity and public issue.

Tickets for the first must see show of the year are $15 for a single and $25 for a pair. They will be available January 26th at the Historic Vista Theater Box Office located in the Vista Theater Thrift Shop in Negaunee, Rare Earth Goods in Ishpeming & Snowbound Books in Marquette.
