Ishpeming-–“Very funny!” those are the two words that best describe the upcoming Westwood
Shakespeare Young Company’s production of the Bard’s Comedy of Errors, according to Director B.G.
Bradley. The production is slated for the Westwood Auditorium stage Jan 6, 13, and 20 at 7 p.m. with
admission $10 for adults, $8 for students, and $5 per seat for groups of five or more.
“All you really need to know is that it’s funny,” said Bradley of the show, “and that it will feature
the best high school comedy team, Hanna Numinen and T’nia Burse, I’ve ever directed. These girls are
amazing! They are wonderful at both physical and verbal comedy. You’ll be reminded of all the best
comedy teams when you see them work.”
Bradley added that the girls, who play the Dromeos, are also directors of the production.
“They’re doing wonderful work in that capacity as well.”
The play, according to Bradley is the inspiration for the vaudeville acts and movies of such silly
comedy teams as the Marx Brothers, Abbot and Costello, and the Three Stooges, and said that in the
play you will recognize many of the same kinds of scenes you see in such comic fare.
“The plot includes two sets of long lost twins,” said Bradley, “which geometrically increases the
cases of mistaken identity. Needless to say, it’s a work of genius.”
Also featured in the play are other talented Westwood students in grades 9-12 who are all part
of the high school troupe. “It’s a great ensemble,” said Bradley. “The production is tight and very, very
funny. You won’t need to be familiar with Shakespeare’s language or work at all to get a big laugh out of
the show.”
The show is suitable for all ages. “Think Bugs Bunny cartoon,” said Bradley. For further
