Marquette – The Northern Michigan University Choir and Madrigal Singers will perform holiday-themed pieces in celebration of Thanksgiving and Christmas on Sunday, November 15 at 3 p.m. in Reynolds Recital Hall in the Hedgcock Building at NMU.
The choir will be singing two Shaker arrangements: “Peace” by Kevin Siegfriend; and “Simple Gifts,” adapted by Aaron Copland and arranged by Irving Fine. Other American folk songs will be performed such as “She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain When She Comes” and Eric Barnum’s arrangement of “Panis Angelicus.” The Madrigal Singers will be singing Saint-Saëns’ ethereal “Christmas Cantata” with orchestra and soloists.
