Marquette – The first Battle of the Bands will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Forest Roberts Theatre on the campus of Northern Michigan University.
Seven Upper Peninsula bands will compete for a cash prize. The bands competing are Now Society Fails, The Portraits, White Knuckle Slave, Heel Click, Unhushed Grace, Our Last Vision, and Lumi. In addition to watching the performances, attendees can purchase raffle tickets for items including gift certificates and a $500 scholarship. All items have been donated by local businesses.
Students enrolled in the entertainment technology class are using the event as an applied service project. Forest Roberts Theatre and Double Trouble Entertainment are producing the event as a way to promote and showcase regional music.
