Peter White Presents Fourth Annual “Reel China” – Nov. 6

Marquette, MichiganNovember 4, 2015 – CineArts Films at Peter White Public Library, a series devoted to foreign and independent films, presents the fourth annual Reel China, a program celebrating Chinese culture through food and film on Friday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room.

The NMU Chinese Organization will serve Chinese snacks and show the movie “Hero (Ying Xiong)” directed by Yimou Zhang and starring Jet Li, Tony Chiu Wai Leung and Maggie Cheung. In ancient China, before the reign of the first emperor, warring factions throughout the Six Kingdoms plot to assassinate the most powerful ruler, Qin. When a nameless soldier defeats Qin’s three principal enemies, he is summoned to the palace to tell Qin the story of his surprising victory.  2002.

The movie will be in Mandarin with English subtitles and will run for 99 minutes. It is rated PG-13 and admission is free. Call 226-4309 or visit www.pwpl.info for more information.
