Marquette – A free screening of the classic film “Rocky” will be offered on Thursday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.

This sleeper hit that became the highest grossing film of 1976 and spawned 5 sequels, is the rags to riches story of Rocky Balboa, small-time boxer who gets a supremely rare chance to fight the heavy-weight champion, Apollo Creed, in a bout in which Rocky strives to go the distance for his own self-respect.

“Rocky” was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, winning three, including Best Picture. The film is rated PG and runs for 119 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.

There is no admission charge. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
