Marquette – Northern Michigan University’s Center for Native American Studies will host an Indigenous People’s Resistance Day event on Monday, October 12 at 7 p.m. in Jamrich 1322 at NMU.
Guest presenter Judge Ruth Hopkins will join via Skype to talk about colonialism and attempted genocides of Native Americans.
Hopkins is a tribal judge for the Spirit Lake tribe in Fort Totten, N.D. She is also the founder of lastrealindians.com and a columnist for Indian Country Today Media Network.
