Negaunee – “Oktoberfest” will be held Saturday, October 17 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Downtown Negaunee.
Many businesses will offer German-themed specials.Several activities will be offered at the Negaunee Band Shell including a stein holding contest from noon to 12:30 p.m. a live “Oompha” Band, a yodeling contest from 2 to 3 p.m., a Chicken Dance for kids from 3 to 3:30 p.m. and a “Best German” costume contest from 4 to 4:30 p.m.
A Soup Cook Off, put on by the Irontown Association, will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m at the Negaunee Eagles Club. Costume photos will be available with the Historic Vista Theater. “Find Your Stein Mug” at Lowenstein’s and Old Bank Building Antiques Stores. Free Hill Top Farm wagon hay rides guided tour of the downtown Negaunee area will be offered all day, and the movie “Beerfest” will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Vista Theater.
