Working Together Shared Ministry Block Party August 16th

Marquette, MI August 14, 2015– Marquette United Methodist Shared Ministry is working together to host a community block party on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. The block party will be held in the parking lot of First United Methodist Church, located at 111 East Ridge Street across from the Landmark Inn.

Kids will enjoy a bouncy house, giant slide and games with prizes. Live music from local community bands and free food and snacks will also be provided. A special visit from Marquette’s Police Department K9 Unit and the Marquette Fire Department will also be on hand to promote safety. In addition, each child will be given a school supply bag featuring crayons, pencils, erasers, paper and folders to prepare them for the upcoming school year.

“We’re very excited to hold this event for our neighbors and the community,” said Rev. Kristi Hintz. “Community outreach is a huge part of our mission. This is a great way for visitors to learn more about us and have a funfilled family day.” “This is our second Shared Ministry Event. Earlier this summer, our Shared Ministries Vacation Bible School was a huge success, so we really have good momentum going forward,” said Rev. Christopher Hintz. “We encourage everyone to come out and learn about how all three of our churches are working together to strengthen our community.”

This event is free to the public and all are welcome.
