Marquette The 12th Annual Marquette Area Blues Festival will be held Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 6 at Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette.
The festival will kick off with a free concert on Friday night with The Rockin’ Johnny Band at 6 p.m. and Ross Kleiner and The Thrill at 8 p.m.
Saturday, a ticketed event, will feature Dave Otto and Hurricane Harold at 1 p.m., Eddie and the Bluesers at 2:30 p.m., Doug Deming and The Jewel Tones at 4 p.m., Tad Robinson at 6 p.m. and Lil’ Ed and The Blues Imperials at 8 p.m.
Sunday, a ticketed event, will feature Travis Swanson and The Midnight Movers at 1 p.m., The Organgrinders at 2:30 p.m., Liz Mandeville at 4 p.m., Golden State Lone Star Revue at 6 p.m., and Coco Montoya at 8 p.m.
In addition to great Blues music throughout the weekend, there will be a wide array of delicious foods, arts and crafts, interactive artist workshops, blues merchandise, and a fully stocked beverage tent with a great selection of local craft brews, imported and domestic favorites as well as a selection of wines.
Gates open at noon on Saturday and Sunday. All times and artists are subject to change. Advanced tickets are $45 for the weekend and are available through NMU EZ Tickets via phone at 227-1032. $10 daily student tickets (ages 15-23) available daily at the gate, children 14 and under are free with paid adult.
The festival will take place rain or shine. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcomed for festival seating, no carry-ins will be allowed. All times are Eastern and lineup is subject to change.
