Ishpeming – The Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club will offer a free beginning rock-hounding class for ages 8 and older on Sunday, July 26 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum in Ishpeming.
Participants will learn how and where to collect specimens in the area and how to identify minerals by using hands on experience with actual specimens.
Those attending will receive specimens to add to their own collections and will also view hundreds of specimens in the museum. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
