Marquette – In honor of May as Mental Health month, a public screening of the multi-award winning film “Take Shelter” will be offered on Tuesday, May 12 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
This drama is about Curtis, a young husband and father who is plagued by a series of apocalyptic visions and questions whether to shelter his family from a coming storm, or from himself. The seemingly inexplicable behavior concerns and confounds Curtis’ wife and provokes intolerance among co-workers, friends and neighbors. However, the resulting strain on his marriage and tension within the community doesn’t compare to Curtis’ private fear of what his dreams may truly signify.
“Take Shelter” was released in 2011, is rated R and runs for 120 minutes. Viewers are welcome to bring their own dinner or buy from the library cafe to enjoy during the feature film in a dinner theater setting.
There is no admission charge. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
