Calendar – Community – “Remembering and Honoring Civil War Orgichidaa – May 23

Marquette – The Marquette Regional History Center will host the KBIC Veterans Drum-Company K with “Remembering and Honoring the Civil War Ogichidaa” on Saturday, May 23 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Marquette Regional History Center on Spring Street in Marquette.

The program will focus on remembering and honoring our regional Native American Civil War warriors, “Ogichidaa”. The presentation will include names and stories of regional contributions including that of Company K of the Michigan Sharpshooters. The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Elders, Veterans Group and Drum will participate in the remembrance and will include both traditional song and dance.
