Calendar – Community – Pet Adoption Campaign

Negaunee – In celebration of National Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month, the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (formerly the Marquette County Humane Society) is sponsoring a “Make Your House a Home Adopt a Shelter Dog!” campaign.

The shelter is offering a 25 percent discount on all dog adoptions throughout October, as well as a certificate for the Pet Play Grooming Shop and a chance to enter a drawing for a basket of dog-themed gifts.

All new dog adopters receive a free “Training Your Adopted Dog” DVD and a 5-pound bag of Hill’s Science Diet dry dog food. The shelter has a variety of dogs available.

The shelter is also continuing its “Name Your Own Cat and Kitten Adoption Price” offer. Choose any shelter kitten or cat and pay the amount of your choosing.
