Calendar – Education – Lecture on Africa – Mar. 10

Marquette – Northern Michigan University’s Great Decisions Global Discussion Series will present retired ambassador Johnnie Carson, assistant secretary of state for Africa, with “Africa Transforms: Wealth, Technology, Democracy” on Tuesday, March 10 at 9 a.m. in Hedgecock 2303 on the NMU campus.

The continent is home to some of the fastest-growing economies in the world and a draw for foreign investors. How can U.S. policy live up to its promise while security its interests in the region? This will be the focus of the lecture. The presentation is free and open to the public.
