Climate Consequences and Carbon Pricing – January 19th

MARQUETTE, MI – Is climate change real? What market “remedies” will help cut greenhouse gasses? The public is invited to join the discussion and get the needed information to make informed decisions at a presentation on “Climate Consequences and Carbon Pricing” held at the Peter White Public Library on Monday, January 19 at 7:00pm in the library’s community room.

Join Jenn Hill, Superior Watershed Partnership program manager and Mary Janet Dunn, member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps for discussion and information sharing.

Topics to be covered will include: consequences of climate on the Upper Peninsula; carbon pricing and cap and trade; economists’ opinions; experiences of other governments; and obstacles to implementing revenue neutral carbon fees.

Civil conversation is fundamental to our democracy. Sharing ideas and discussion on climate change and policy will help us all make better choices.

Ms. Dunn is also a member of the Sierra Club and a volunteer for the non-partisan Citizens’ Climate Lobby, a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change.

Superior Watershed Partnership is a Great Lakes nonprofit organization that works to prevent pollution and implements innovative, science-based programs that achieve documented, measurable results.
