Marquette – CineArts Films, a series devoted to foreign and independent films, will present the movie “Wadjda” on Friday, January 9 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Wadjda, a fun loving, 10-year-old girl living in a suburb of Riyadh, has her heart set on a beautiful green bicycle. Even though her mother won’t allow it, Wadjda is determined to fight for her dreams and raise the money to buy it herself.
This is the first feature length film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia and was released in 2012. It is in Arabic with English subtitles and runs for 98 minutes. Admission is free. Call 226-4309 or visit www.pwpl.info for more information.
