Marquette – DocuMonday will present the documentary film “The Rape of Europa” on Monday, January 5 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
This is the story of the real Monuments Men, young art historians and curators from America and across Europe, who campaign to rescue and return countless art works displaced by Nazi Germany’s plundering of Europe’s great works of art during World War II and Allied efforts to minimize the damage.
The film was released in 2006, is not rated and runs for 117 minutes. There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library.
