Synopsis: Mayor Niemi, President Erickson and Director Barnes will give opening remarks to officially kick off the U.P. Veteran Expo at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8.
The Expo is a “one-stop shop” for veterans and their families looking for information on employment and education opportunities, healthcare screenings, benefits counselors, recreation programs and other resources available to them. The event is free and runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency serves as the central coordinating point, connecting those who have served in the United States Armed Services and their families, to services and benefits throughout the state of Michigan.
