Marquette – DocuMonday will screen the documentary film “Blackfish” on Monday, August 4 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of Peter White Public Library.
“Blackfish” is the story of Tilikum, a performing killer whale that killed several people while in captivity. The film contains shocking footage and emotional interviews to explore the creature’s extraordinary nature, the species’ cruel treatment in captivity.
This emotionally wrenching, tautly structured story challenges us to consider our relationship to nature and reveals how little we humans have learned from these highly intelligent and enormously sentient fellow mammals.
“Blackfish” was released in 2013, is rated PG-13, and runs for 83 minutes. There is no admission charge. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
