Marquette – Fall Flicks will offer a screening of ”Beginners” on Tuesday, October 9 at 4:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
“Beginners” imaginatively explores the hilarity, confusion, and surprises of love through the evolving consciousness of Oliver who meets the irreverent and unpredictable Anna only months after his father Hal, has passed away. This new love floods Oliver with memories of his father who following 44 years of marriage, came out of the closet at age 75 to live a full, energized, and wonderfully tumultuous gay life. The upheavals of Hals new honesty brought father and son closer than theyd ever been able to be. Now Oliver endeavors to love Anna with all the bravery, humor, and hope that his father taught him.
This romantic comedy was released in 2010, is rated R and runs for 105 minutes.
Fall Flicks feature the library cafés delicious gourmet popcorn by Tu Kaluthia, available for purchase, and recently released feature films in a dinner theater setting.
