MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center presents reggae group, The 906 Band on Thursday, August 7 at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend this free concert held at the Presque Isle Band Shell in Marquette, Mich.
The 906 Band originated over 30 years ago and all the members are from the Upper Peninsula. The line up includes John Mallo on bass, Mike Ryan and Frank Siminski both on guitar and percussion, Tom Doman on percussion, and “Biggawhite” aka James Swanson on vocals. The group plays a variety of cover songs in addition to original and traditional reggae music. The 906 Band has played at the Hiawatha Music Festival and Blissfest under the name of Baboo.
