Kipling Boating Access Site Temporarily Closing July 14 for Improvements

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced today that the Kipling Boating Access Site in Delta County will be closed on Monday, July 14 for channel dredging and installation of a new concrete boat ramp. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, August 1 and the site will reopen upon completion of the project.

During construction, boaters are encouraged to use the nearby Rapid River DNR launch, Gladstone Municipal Marina, Hunters Point United States Forest Service launch and Escanaba North Shore launch.

This project is funded through the Michigan State Waterways Fund, a restricted fund derived from boat registration fees and the Michigan marine fuel tax, which is used for the construction, operation and maintenance of recreational boating facilities, harbors and inland waterways.

For more information or updates about this project, contact Unit Supervisor Jeff Kakuk at 906-786-2354 ext. 134.
