Marquette’s Downtown District will be hosting a “hunt for hidden treasure” from June – August. The event is modeled after the recent buzz around “hidden cash” which took off in San Diego and has reached cities across the United States. The “treasure” features gift certificates of various denominations from downtown businesses. Clues are provided by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority and will be posted each week via the Downtown Marquette Twitter Page, @DowntownMQT. Twitter posts will go live at 9:30 a.m. each Monday, providing the first clue to where the treasure has been stashed. Various clues will follow until the treasure is found. Once someone finds the hidden treasure, they must snap a photo of themselves with the envelope and tweet the photo to @DowntownMQT or email it to samantha@downtownmarquette.org, this will allow the individual to fully claim the prize.
“This is a fun way for individuals and families to have some lighthearted fun and adventure in Downtown Marquette,” explains Samantha Collins, Events and Promotions Coordinator for Downtown Marquette.
The first clue for the summer long event launches Monday, June 9 at 9:30 a.m.
