MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – The new Marquette Food Co-op store at 502 W. Washington St. is opening on Thursday, May 22. The Marquette Food Coop Board of Directors will lead a procession of Co-op owners, employees, and community members in a ceremonial walk from 109 W. Baraga Ave to 502 W. Washington Ave beginning at 7:30 am. The marchers will be carrying old Co-op signs from generations past and the march will culminate in a ribbon cutting at the new location. All are invited to attend!
The first 100 people in the door will receive a free fair-trade rose. Activities will be held throughout the day. Children will receive a free piece of fruit, and tours of the Co-op will be offered on the hour until 6:00 pm for those who would like to learn the ins and outs of the new store.
The Marquette Food Co-op is very excited to open its doors to the public and want to share this moment with all of the Marquette community.
