Marquette – DocuMonday, in conjunction with the Let’s Talk About It: Muslim Journeys series, will present the documentary film “Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World ” on Monday, May 5 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
The film explores and celebrates the great richness of Islamic art and architecture throughout the world. It takes the viewer into extraordinary palaces and mosques with exquisite gardens, ceramics and paintings, to watch the play of light and space and to sense the sheen of delicate textiles, of gold and silver work, and of rock crystal and precious gems.
The film was released in 2011, runs for 90 minutes and there is no admission charge. Dr. Steven Leuthold, NMU Art History Professor will lead a discussion after the film.
