NMU’s Automotive Service Tech Program Accredited

MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN – Northern Michigan University’s automotive service technology program has been approved for accreditation by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation. The foundation’s goal is to improve the quality of training programs at secondary and post-secondary schools nationwide.

“NATEF accreditation standardizes the information taught so that graduates will leave Northern with all of the necessary knowledge and skills to be successful automotive technicians,” said Daryl Kobie of Technology and Occupational Sciences at NMU. “We have put some energy and effort into updating the lab facility and equipment here in the Jacobetti Complex. We’re also adding new courses in automotive air conditioning, automotive lab safety and automotive mathematics.”
