Advanced Topics in Brewing: Recipe Formulation

The first Advanced Topics in Brewing class will cover recipe formulation from mash schedule and grain and hop bills, to water chemistry, fermentation schedule and adjunct selection.  Participants should be familiar with all grain brewing processes, but those working with partial mashes should be able to follow along just fine.  Taught by Siebel Institute of Technology graduate Kevin Clegg, this class will help you get away from the formulaic recipes you’ve always used. Start to add personal touches to classic styles or create brand new flavors from completely original recipes.  Additional classes will likely follow with topics determined by student interest.

When: Wednesday, May 1 at 6pm

Where: Marquette Food Co-op upstairs conference room

Cost: Free to owners, $3 suggested donation for all others. Class size is limited, pre-registration is required. Call Sarah at 225-0671 ext. 23 to reserve or space or for more information.
