Marquette – A Northern Center for Lifelong Learning workshop “Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone” will be offered on Tuesday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at First United Methodist Church, 111 E. Ridge Street, Marquette.
Retired NMU education professor Dave Blomquist and his wife, Mary Lou, moved to China for three months in 2012 to teach English to students at Xinyang Vocational and Technical College. The challenges of the initial language and cultural barriers forced the couple to quickly adapt to a new environment. This workshop aims to persuade others of the opportunities that await by simply stepping out of their comfort zones.
This event is free for NCLL members and $5 for non-members. Register by Tuesday, April 15, by calling 227-2979.
