Drone Warfare Talk at NMU April 1st

MARQUETTE, Mich. —Medea Benjamin will give a presentation on the ethics of drone warfare on Tuesday, April 1, at Northern Michigan University. Benjamin drew controversy after she interrupted President Barack Obama’s counterterrorism speech, citing the loss of civilian lives caused by U.S. drone fighting tactics. She will speak at 7 p.m. in the Great Lakes Rooms in the University Center. There is no admission charge.

Medea co-founded Code Pink, a grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end U.S.-funded wars. She is also co-founder of the human rights advocacy group Global Exchange.

The program is sponsored by Marquette Citizens for Peace and Justice and NMU’s Social Justice Committee. For more information, call 226-3445 or 475-7582.
