On 08/26/2025 at approximately 8:50 pm the white 2021 Doge Ram pickup Eileen Mandel was operating was located on a two-track road in Negaunee Township. A search of the wooded area near the pickup was carried out and the deceased body of 69 year-old Eileen Mandel was located by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 10:35 pm.
No foul play is suspected. The incident remains under investigation. Assisting with this incident were the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Michigan DNR Conservation Officers, and UPHS-Marquette EMS.

The Marquette Police Department requests help from the public in locating Eileen Mandel, who has been missing from her home in Marquette since Sunday at approximately 5:30 pm. Eileen has made concerning statements to family in the past and may currently be in an altered mental state. Eileen was last seen leaving her residence in a white 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck with Michigan plate DD70423. The truck has a black tonneau cover, running boards, and chrome accents.
Based on the investigation thus far, Eileen may have been in the area of Wal-Mart and Schwemwood Park on County Road 492 in Marquette Township on Sunday Evening. Eileen was last seen wearing a green sweater. Eileen is sixty-nine years old, about 5’4” tall, about 110 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair.
Currently, there is no known direction of travel or place of interest that Eileen has likely gone to. Anyone with information about Eileen’s location, who has seen Eileen recently, or has seen the vehicle, should contact the Marquette Police Department at (906) 228-0400.
