Peter White Public Library’s Film Club invites the public to a free screening of the modern classic film “My Left Foot” on Thursday, February 20 at 6:30 pm in the library’s Community Room. The film stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Brenda Fricker and Ray McAnally.
An alternative to the general run of “triumph over the odds” biopics, “My Left Foot” is the true story of Irish cerebral palsy victim Christy Brown. Using his left foot, the only part of his body not afflicted, Brown learns to write and becomes a well-known author, painter, and fundraiser.
The two time Oscar winning film, including Best Actor for Day-Lewis, was released in 1989, is rated R and runs for 102 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.
There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
