New Marquette App Launched

Marquette, MI – Local marketing specialist and Marquette native Andrew Lorinser recently launched Marquette Mobile, a website and mobile app devoted to the exposure and promotion of local attractions, events, businesses and the syndication of news stories from media outlets. Lorinser launched the app on October 18 of this year.

The Marquette, MI mobile app’s goal is to help residents find essential information about the city, its history, local attractions, and popular travel hotspots. Users can search local business directories, check-in, use interactive maps, and browse various local shopping outlets. Popular features on the app include suggestions for local nightlife, open-late pubs, upcoming events, and information about Marquette’s entertainment scene – performing arts, theatre, local music, annual festivals, sports, and more. Lorinser continues to introduce more features, and evolve as the app’s audience grows.

“Over 1,000 users have downloaded the app in the past 30 days, and I’m incredibly grateful to the community for the support and feedback,” said Lorinser. “I wanted to create something residents could use as a resource every day; something that was frequently updated, and featured real stories, happening to real people, in real-time.”

Lorinser says Marquette Mobile’s ‘Newsroom’ has the most updated, comprehensive collection of news feeds from local media outlets – stories, community calendars, blogs, opinion-editorials, local sports and weather, and is automatically updated every five minutes.

“Too many apps enable people to be very reclusive. You can play games on your phone all day, but I wanted to develop something that encouraged people to find out what was happening in the community, and outside their screens.”

Lorinser’s website and Facebook pages boast that the app features details on over ten different events, every day. Users can share calendars with friends, and link to events and news stories easily with through social networks. “It’s an app that’s built by the community. Content is king, and our content is syndicated feeds by reputable and trusted local outlets, we merely stylize and format to fit in the palm of your hand.”

Marquette Mobile features radio stations, news outlets; print and television, and various municipal organizations. Users can review and recommend businesses, and also build a travel-itinerary through a mobilized version of an interactive Map provided by the County Visitor’s and Travel Bureau.

Other features include photos, videos, local online shopping, discounts, current deals, downloadable coupons, and the ability hail a taxi. Get parking maps, current local gas prices, and watch live webcams.

The app is free to download, and is available through Marquette Mobile’s website www.MarquetteMobile.com, or through Google Play, iTunes, the Apple App Store, and Amazon.com It is compatible with Droid, iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire, and various other tablets.

It’s everything Marquette… and more. An entire city, in the palm of your hand. Lorinser jokes, “If you don’t love it, I’ll shovel your driveway.”
