A spaghetti dinner for Jerry Hebert will be held September 21st at the Ishpeming Armory from 2PM-8PM. Jerry is a local fire fighter with the Ishpeming Township Fire and Rescue and 911 dispatcher who has been diagnosed with Asbestosis, otherwise known as Armored Lung. This is a condition caused by exposure to asbestos.
In his 16 year career with the Department, he has served as 1st Captain and most recently was elected to Chief in 2012. Jerry has served our community in a variety of ways: fire fighter, EMT, and Rescue 131.
He has had to take an indefinite leave of absence from the Marquette County Central Dispatch while he receives treatment and recuperates from surgery, performed by a medical team at The Massachusetts General Hospital.
Jerry has a wife, Tammy, and three children: Ryan, 22, Gabby, 16, and Jordan, 14.
There will be a silent auction, music, t-shirts, entertainment, and a Chinese Raffle. Any help, donations, and/or attendance at the benefit are greatly appreciated.
