The Michigan Humanities Council is happy to announce the start of another Smithsonian Institution exhibit tour. Journey Stories, an exhibit exploring the history of our immigration stories, travel and movement, will travel to five rural Michigan communities from June 1 through March 2014.
The exhibit will open at its first stop – the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary in Alpena, on June 1, and be on display there until July 26. Additional stops include:
Coloma – North Berrien Historical Museum
Aug. 6 – Sept. 21
Dundee – Historical Preservation Society of Dundee/Old Mill Museum
Sept. 30 – Nov. 15
Curtis – Erickson Center for the Arts
Nov. 25, 2013 through Jan. 24, 2014
Charlevoix – Charlevoix Public Library
Feb. 3 – March 21, 2014
This family friendly exhibit is open for free admission at each site. All sites will also offer local programming opportunities that connect the local community to this national exhibit.
