Ishpeming – Running for a Reason will be hosting a Kids Day as part of a fundraiser to help raise money for baby Flynn Valela on Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Al Quaal Recreation area in Ishpeming.
The cost will be $10 for a wrist band. The wrist band will include all the games and activities the kids want to play including a book walk, bean bag toss, duck pond, fishing, bounce house, face painting and much more. Hotdogs, chips and lemonade will also be provided.
There will also be a Silent Basket auction. Proceeds will go to the Valela family. Flynn,the son of Matt and April Valela of Ishpeming,was born at 28 weeks and spent 12 weeks in the NICU at Marquette General. Although the family has insurance there are always expenses that go along with unexpected events.
