Marquette – In celebration of March as Women’s History Month, the film “The Queen” will be shown on Wednesday, March 27 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Released in 2006, the film is an intimate, revealing and sometimes humorous behind-the-scenes glimpse at the interaction between Queen Elizabeth II and her prime minister Tony Blair following the death of Princess Diana. The two struggled to reach a compromise between what was a private tragedy for the Royal family and the public’s demand for an overt display of mourning.
Viewers are welcome to bring a take-out supper and enjoy this film series featuring Best Leading Actress Oscar winners portraying real women.
There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
