U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Website To Get New Look, Web Links To Change

DETROIT — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, USACE, Detroit District will soon migrate its public website (www.lre.usace.army.mil) and all its web pages to a new look and web hosting platform. This migration will result in changed web addresses, which means individual bookmarks may no longer function.

The Detroit District is one of the 58 public Corps web sites that has been refreshing and updating their information to a new system hosted by the Department of Defense. This system provides USACE with a consistent web site look and feel and streamlines content management, making it easier to keep web pages current.

“Among many other improvements, our goal is to provide the public with a visually appealing web presence that includes up-to-date information, eliminates outdated data, delivers a rich end-user experience that makes use of audio, video and other web elements, and provides accessibility in compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act,” said Lt. Col. Robert Ells, district engineer.

Visitors to the district’s web page are asked to bookmark the homepage http://www.lre.usace.army.mil which will remain the same. However, current bookmarks to popular pages such as water levels, permits and other navigational information will no longer be available. Visitors can use the enhanced search engine to find the new links to bookmark specific pages on the new site which is designed with a user-friendly approach.

For more information regarding the website migration or questions about access, contact Cassandra Kardeke at 313-226-4681.
