Calendar – Education – Native American Author and Musician Joseph Bruchac at NMU – Nov. 8

Marquette – Northern Michigan University will celebrate Native American Heritage Month throughout November.

Author and musician Joseph Bruchac will present “Those Who Sustain Us: Native Cultures and Foods,” which weaves traditional stories and songs, on Thursday, November 8 at 1 p.m. in Mead Auditorium in the West Science Building.

At 3 p.m., he will address “Sharing the Gift: Understanding and Teaching Contemporary Native American Literature.”

His evening presentation, a performance combining traditional stories and music with original stories and poems, will be held at 7 p.m. in Jamrich Hall 103.

The event is free and open to the public.
