Marquette – Actors-educators from the Stratford Shakespeare Festival will offer a Shakespeare workshop on Tuesday, October 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Jamrich Hall 101 at Northern Michigan University.
Workshop leaders will work interactively with teachers and students on using drama-based strategies to approach, understand and connect to Shakespeare’s works. They will show students how to get on their feet and speak to unlock meaning in Shakespeare’s texts in ways that reading silently at their desks never can.
The workshop is sponsored by the NMU English department, Passages North literary magazine, Sigma Tau Delta, the Westwood Shakespeare Company and the Stratford Shakespeare Festival Michigan Education and Outreach Initiative. It is free and open to the public.
