Marquette – The Peter White Public Library in Marquette will present a screening of “The Soloist” on Thursday, November 12 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the library.
This film is a biographical drama of the true story of musical prodigy Nathaniel Ayers, who dropped out of Julliard after developing schizophrenia. Ayers becomes a homeless musician on the streets of Los Angeles and is befriended by a reporter looking for a story. Their ensuing friendship transforms the lives of both men.
There is no admission charge to the film thanks to sponsorship by the Peter White Public Library and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. For more information, call 226-4318.
