Bishop Baraga Days, the annual celebration of the life and ministry of Venerable Frederic Baraga, the first bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Marquette whose cause for sainthood is being pursued, will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 22 and 23, in Marquette. All are welcome to attend. In addition to the celebration of the Mass and banquets with entertainment, there will be a walking tour in Marquette on Sat., Sept. 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. ET and on Sun., Sept. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET. The tour includes the bishops’ crypt at St. Peter Cathedral, the house where Venerable Bishop Baraga lived and an open house at the Bishop Baraga Association office, where visitors can view artifacts and items available for purchase.
